Alors Kerry?
Allez trève de plaisanterie, à quatorze heures de l'ouverture des bureaux de vote, je vous livre mon ultime prévision. Quitte à en décevoir certains, je vais rester sur la même ligne. Je pense que Kerry peut l'emporter, avec au moins cinq points d'avance. Comment? En remportant l'Ohio, la Pennsylvanie et la Floride, autant de swing states où les démocrates ont inscrit plus de nouveaux électeurs que les républicains. Comme je suis à Boston, je vous tiendrai au courant de tous les développements. Allez, à vos paris....

Je pense, comme Fabrice, que Kerry va emporter les swings states clefs ( Ohio, Floride, Pennsylvanie )...
C'est aussi l'avis d'un ami informaticien nw-yorkais - et donc logiquement pro-Kerry ;-) - qui m'a certifié hier, au terme d'un déplacement en Arizona, qu'il avait l'impression de rencontrer de plus en plus de républicains disant haut et fort qu'ils allaient voter JFK.

Je ne veux pas étre pessimiste mais... rien n'est encore joué, si tu a l'impression que Kery va l'emporter de peu grace aux swing states c'est peut étre puisque tu te trouves a Boston où se trouve le QG de campagne de Kerry... En tout cas si il l'emporte ( et je l'espére ) tu te trouveras au bon endroit pour faire la féte !! Mais les swing states feront la différence....

Kerry, dans les trois swing states.
En prime le thème des éditoriaux des journaux mainstream :
"L'Amérique se réconcilie avec le monde, c'est à dire avec elle-même."
En choisissant Kerry comme Président, les Etats Unis se sont souvenus que leurs véritables origines ne se trouvaient pas au coeur du Texas ou du Midwest, mais en Europe, en Afrique, en Asie, en Amérique du Sud; que son centre névralgique n'était pas un point hors du monde, mais une multitude de points éparpillés sur chaque continent; que, tant qu'à choisir entre deux mythes, elle doit moins sa puissance aux centaines de familles de fermiers un peu stressées qui ont conquis l'ouest en s'en remettant à Dieu, qu'aux millions d'immigrants débarqués sur Ellis Island avec pour seul bagage une petite part du génie de leur contrée d'origine.
John le francophile et Teresa la lusophone rappellent opportunément le lien de parenté universel qui relie les américains au reste du monde. Avec eux l'Amérique renoue avec le fil de son histoire (l'immigration), de son identité (la diversité) et de ses valeurs (l'universalisme pragmatique).
La parenthèse néo conservatrice peut désormais apparaître pour ce qu'elle est : une crise d'angoisse aigüe, viscérale, face aux bouleversements trop rapides d'un monde qu'elle n'arrive plus à comprendre.
Une aberration à la hauteur de ce qu'a été l'élection de 2000, le 11 septembre et la décision d'entrer en guerre contre l'Irak. Et qui fait écho d'autres moments où les américains ont choisi le repli paranoïaque face au changement non maîtrisé : Mc Carthy, ce n'était pas si loin.
Mais il faudra à l'Amérique davantage qu'un simple scrutin, fut-il exemplaire, pour s'en remettre.
Le parti républicain doit maintenant procéder à un examen en profondeur de ses valeurs, de son corpus idéologique et de ses cadres. Il doit revisiter son histoire et se souvenir qu'avant d'être le bras politique de la Christian Coalition, il fut aussi le parti de Lincoln et d'Eisenhower.
On peut parier qu'il le fera et ce sera une bonne nouvelle : quand l'Amérique va bien, le monde ne se sent pas obligé de choisir son candidat et c'est beaucoup mieux ainsi.

Intéressant sondage, effectué par Zogby auprès de jeunes (18-29 ans), et uniquement par téléphone mobile. Le résultat est sans appel: Kerry: 55%, Bush 40%.
Ce sondage s'ajoute au fait du nombre d'électeurs démocrates nouvellement inscrits, comme Fabrice le souligne ...
Je parie donc sur Kerry ...

Hier soir sur MTV et BET (Black entertainment television), il y avait constamment des incrustations urgeant les gens d'aller voter. (Peut etre que c'est moi qui les remarque seulement maintenant)

Tout pareil, je donne Kerry avec plus de 300 EV.
La dynamique de changement est clairement la plus forte et c'est pas les efforts de 'vote tampering' qui vont modifier l'élection.
Maintenant les pro-Bush seront certainement mauvais perdants.

Mais la franchement je m'interroge, quand on voit les manifestations pendant le cortège d'investiture de BUSH en 2000 dans l'introduction de Farenheit 9/11 si Bush est élu à nouveau et que la tricherie est découverte, que va t'il se passer lors du cortège d'investiture ? on se le demande ...

Si c'est 52% / 47% alors effectivement ce sera difficile pour le Bush team de refaire le coup de 2000. Mais j'ai la conviction que si l'élection est plus sérrée ... ils vont à nouveau réussir à rouler les américains et leur système électoral préhistorique dans la farine.

Zogby donnerait pour l'instant +3 Bush en Floride, tied en Virginie, tied en pennsylvanie et +3 Kerry dans le Colorado. Attention, c'est une rumeur. Zogby annonce en tous cas possible grosses surprises dans les états susmentionnés.

Arg ! Le pari de Fabrice est rationnel et il est issu d'une analyse partagée par beaucoup de commentateurs, républicains comme démocrates. Quand rien ne permet de décider, il faut bien parier un peu (tout en annonçant, certes, la couleur). Le "beau risque de penser" c'est aussi cela le journalisme ! Vous préférez la tranquilité du "je n'en sais rien" ? Pas moi !
